No retrial for pensioner cleared of raping Crawley schoolboy

THE Crown Prosecution Service has decided not to ask for a retrial of a man cleared by a jury of taking part in the rape of a young boy. Arthur Blackman, 72, had been charged with taking part in an attack more than 50 years ago in Crawley - which involved the victim's own father, who is now dead. But Blackman, from Forsyte Crescent, Upper Norwood, maintained the victim, who is now 59, had confused him with somebody else called Arthur.
