THE man who a mum fears tried to kidnap her 10-year-old daughter as she walked home through Crawley Down may have been spotted near to the village days before.
Sussex Police yesterday confirmed a schoolgirl ran off after she thought a van was following her home on Monday evening.
A statement by the force said the girl had not been approached and that the driver had not tried to talk to her.
