Churchgoers were targeted by a thief who made off with several wallets and a mobile phone.
The theft occurred between 9.15 and 9.45pm last Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Old Horsham Road in Southgate.
The incident was reported to Sussex Police.
