A man has been charged with a racially aggravated offence and stealing alcohol from Sainsbury's in the town centre.
Jack Gibson, 24, is accused of taking alcohol from the Queensway store on Sunday.
Officers were called to the store at about 7pm and arrested Gibson, of Woking in Surrey.
He was later charged with three offences: theft; racially aggravated harassment; and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour.
He is due to appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court on June 22.
