Police have apologised after officers wrongly seized poppers from three shops in Crawley town centre as part of a raid on businesses selling so-called 'legal highs'.
Crawley Police tweeted, along with a photo of two large bags filled with confiscated goods, that they had taken the items under a new law prohibiting the sale of 'legal highs', which has come into effect today (Thursday May 26).
However, officers then realised poppers are not included within the new legislation.We are checking...
