The police helicopter was out over Crawley in the early hours of this morning.
The National Police Air Service (NPAS) aircraft was reported over the town at around 3am with some residents saying thy could see it shining a searchlight on the ground.
The official NPAS Redhill Twitter account confirmed the helicopter was deployed to help in the search for a person. The Surrey and Sussex dog unit was also involved in the operation along with officers from
Sussex Police.
