A SELF-CONFESSED alcoholic has
apologised for stealing a retirement home's Poppy Appeal collection box.
Remorseful Christopher Dare was given a police caution after he was caught on CCTV taking the box at Ashdown Gate retirement home, where he lives, on Friday, November 8.
But Mr Dare, who drinks one litre of vodka a day and has battled drug problems, says he cannot remember the theft.
And he now wants to say sorry for the crime, which he says happened after he
hit "an all time low".
