Man rebailed over 'false child abduction claims'

A man who was arrested on suspicion of giving a false account when he reported that a child had been "abducted" in Redhill in August, has been rebailed.The initial report on August 24, of a child being bundled into a black van on Redstone Hill, sparked a huge police investigation which lasted four days.A sole witness had told police that a young boy was taken against his will and placed into a black VW Transporter van between 4.20pm and 4.40pm.In the early hours of that evening a...
