IT has emerged this afternoon that "murder" victim Joao Esteves had only arrived in Britain last Wednesday - four days before he was found unconscious in a Three Bridges alleyway.
It is understood that Mr Esteves, 45, arrived in Britain at Gatwick Airport on a flight from Portugal.
He returned to the airport two days later and began sleeping rough while he tried to find a way to pay for a ticket home.
He was spoken to on several occasions by Gatwick staff and Sussex Police...
