DANIEL Palmer was upset about the state of a relationship he was in on the night when he is alleged to have murdered homeless man Joao Esteves, a court has heard this afternoon.
Prosecutor Paul Valder told a jury at Lewes Crown Court that shortly before attacking Mr Esteves, Palmer had been crying while speaking on the phone to a woman he had been seeing.
She was at university, Mr Valder said, and Palmer was upset at how their relationship wasn't going as he had hoped.
