YOUTHS smashed a bus window by throwing objects at it as it passed through Ifield. The Metrobus service was targeted on Wednesday evening at about 6.40pm as it drove along Warren Drive near its junction with Kirdford Close. A group of youths had thrown a number of objects at the bus before smashing one of the windows. Sussex Police sent officers to try to find the culprits but they had dispersed and were not found. An appeal for information has been issued. Anyone who can help should call Sussex...

A CAR has been towed by police after it was found to have no insurance, tax or MOT in Manor Royal.Officers were patrolling the business district on Thursday (January 14) morning when they carried out checks on vehicles in the area to make sure they were road legal.Two officers from Crawley's Neighbourhood Policing Team discovered a Toyota in City Place, Manor Royal, with any insurance, tax or MOT.It was seized at the scene and towed away.

A MAN has appeared in court accused of presenting the DVLA with fake driving licence details.Kunjan Shukla appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court on January 4 charged with possessing identity documents with intent.The 35-year-old is alleged to have possessed a false French driving licence number in Crawley on July 21, 2015, and attempting to present it to the DVLA.The case was adjourned and Shukla, from Mowbray Drive in Bewbush, is next due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on February 1.

POLICE and the ambulance service have been called to a Tilgate street this evening following an assault. At least two police cars and two ambulances have attended the scene in Ashdown Drive where someone has been assaulted. Sussex Police were initially called at 8.36pm but officers are still at the scene dealing with the incident. The exact nature of the assault and details of any injuries are not known at this stage.
