A SOUTHGATE man has been charged with sexual assaults on a young boy in the 1970S. Barry Millard, 68, of Keymer Road, is to appear for trial at Lewes Crown Court on April 18, charged with two counts of indecent assaults on a boy, then aged between 13 and 15, in Crawley between 1977 and 1979. He was committed for trial at Crawley Magistrates' Court on November 4 last year and is currently on court bail The offences are alleged to have taken place at the now closed Crawley Boys Club in London...

SUSSEX Police carried out a successful drugs raid on a property in Bewbush this morning - with the help of Diesel the police dog. At 6.55am on Monday, February 22, local officers executed a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a flat in Cowfold Close, Bewbush. A 35-year old man was arrested on suspicion of the possession of cannabis with intent to supply, and money laundering. He is currently in custody for interview and further enquiries.
