A MAN has pleaded guilty to stealing a bottle of wine from the café inside Crawley train station on Valentine's Day. Peter Bawn, of White Acre in Littlehampton, appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court on February 15. The 60-year-old committed the crime at Pumpkin Café. Magistrates ordered Bawn to pay £4.14 in compensation for the offence.

Three garages were broken into in the same street between Sunday and Monday. Sometime between 6am and 5pm on Sunday a garage was burgled in Oatlands and a Black & Decker chainsaw was stolen along with a petrol strimmer. Two garages were then raided overnight on Sunday but nothing was stolen.

WE have a big problem in society with the way we view rape cases and it's as evident in Crawley as it is anywhere. Your immediate reaction to this statement may be to dismiss it as nonsense - rape is a horrendous crime and any right-minded individual would see it as that and surely condemn it.
