Police helicopter searches for East Grinstead man following...

A police helicopter has tonight been scrambled to help find a man following a domestic incident. Residents reported hearing the helicopter at approximately 10pm and a Sussex Police spokesman since confirmed the force is still searching for a "young man".It is believed police were called following a domestic altercation with the man seeking refuge at a family member's home an at an East Grinstead address.

A Teenager has been charged with wounding and possession of an offensive weapon after a man was stabbed in St Leonards on 14 April.The 17-year-old local man appeared before Brighton Magistrates Court on Saturday and has been bailed to appear at Eastbourne Magistrates Court on May 13.The 47-year-old victim is in intensive care in a critical condition after being stabbed as he walked home between St George's Road and Manor Road last Saturday.

Residents woke up this morning to paint smeared across their vehicles and homes after an overnight graffiti attack. The blue substance was sprayed over five vehicles and two walls at addresses at King George Avenue and Sackville Gardens. Police believe the paint may have been found in the area shortly before the vandalism took place. Anyone with information should call Sussex Police on 101, quoting serial number 167 of April 23.

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after an overnight graffiti attack. The youth was arrested this morning after five vehicles and two walls in in King George Avenue and Sackville Gardens were last night daubed with blue paint. Police believe the paint may have been found in the area shortly before the vandalism took place.

A POLICE officer has been charged with theft at a Tesco store in Crawley. PC Roger Toms, 41, was charged by Sussex Police and bailed to appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 9 May. A MAN was punched in the face after refusing to hand over his phone to three teenage thugs. The victim was attacked in Marion Road, Furnace Green, at 5.25pm last Friday. He was approached by three male youths aged about 15 or 16, all of whom had hoodies over their heads and their faces obscured by scarves. They demanded he hand over his phone and when he refused he was punched in the face. The victim has told police all three attackers were white and on bicycles.
