THE POLICE helicopter has been scrambled from its Redhill base this afternoon (July 25) after four people were seen jumping from a foreign HGV. The National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter took off at around 3.40pm to assist Sussex Police on the search, in the Copthorne area. A WOODEN bench was deliberately set alight last night (July 27) in a play area off Breezehurst Drive in Bewbush. Firefighters from Crawley Fire Station were sent to the scene in one fire engine at around 7.20pm. They used buckets of water to douse the flames and left the scene after around 10 minutes. It is unclear whether the fire was related to "incidents of minor public disorder" that broke out after a large fight at Dorsten Square at 7.42pm, involving up to 50 youths.
