FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a sofa fire at a home in West Green which was entirely filled with smoke.
A crew from Crawley Fire Station was sent to Ewhurst Road at 4.54pm yesterday (Sunday) to what was initially believed to have been an automatic fire alarm going off.

THE trial of a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a burger van has been put back to next year.Bilal Sarioglu is charged with three counts of sexual assault and one count of exposure at a lay-by on the A264 between Copthorne and Crawley on May 3, 2013, all of which he denies.The 44-year-old, from Olivier Road in Maidenbower, was scheduled to appear for trial at Hove Crown Court on July 15, but the case was adjourned until April 7, 2015, due to a conflict with other cases.

Shoplifter pleads guilty to stealing drills from Homebase
A NORTHGATE man has admitted stealing two power drills from Homebase in West Green.
Byron Daniels, 30, from Woodside Road, Northgate, pleaded guilty to theft from a shop when he appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court last Wednesday.
The court heard that on March 26 Daniels walked into Homebase, on Crawley Avenue, picked up two Bosch drills, worth £209.98, and walked out, making no effort to pay.
He was later identified through the store's CCTV.

A JUDGE has decided to delay the sentencing of a man who downloaded indecent images of children as young as six, to get more input from mental health experts who have supported the offender.

An e-fit has been released of the limping criminal who was seen struggling to keep up with his accomplice after a burglary on a home in Ifield.
