TWO tortoises have been stolen during a burglary at a home in Colgate.
The two Mediterranean spur thighed tortoises are a male called Lew and a female called Lyn.
Lew is about 8 inches long and has a darker shell in part, while Lyn is about 7 inches long and has an overall lighter shell.
They were stolen during a burglary at an address in Forest Road, Colgate, between Crawley and Horsham, between 7.15am and 5pm on Friday.
Laptops and jewellery were also stolen.

Two men charged over acid attack at Crawley Leisure Park
TWO men have been charged over an acid attack outside Cineworld at Crawley Leisure Park.
The incident happened between 1 and 1.30am on Sunday, August 30, in the car park when the victim, a 27-year-old man, had acid thrown in his face.
He had to be rushed to East Surrey Hospital for treatment.
Due to potentially life-changing injuries from the acid, he was later transferred to Queen Victoria Hospital, in East Grinstead, for specialist care.

Man attacked and raped in Crawley alleyway while out running
A MAN has been attacked and raped in an alleyway while he was out running in Furnace Green.
The 34-year old jogger, who is a local man, had reached the alleyway off Waterlea when he was attacked by a man who raped him before running off.
The victim was badly shaken following the incident at about 6.45am on Friday, August 14, but he did not report it to police until last Friday (September 18).
The suspect is described as white, about 6ft tall, and wearing a grey hooded top and white trainers....

A MAN was pulled aside, searched and questioned by police at Gatwick after joking to his girlfriend that he had a gun in his bag.
At 12.50pm yesterday (Monday) police were called by airport security staff to the North Terminal departures concourse.
The passenger, who was checking in to fly to Turkey had been overheard making the remark to his girlfriend.
There was no gun and the man was strongly advised not to make such remarks. He was not arrested and went on his way.

Sussex police has issued photographs of the items taken in the burglary in Tower Road, Colgate just on the edge of Crawley.

A MAN collapsed while he was being pursued through Gatwick Airport by police following an allegation that he assaulted someone on a train, Crawley News understands.

PART of the K2 leisure centre has been cordoned off following a break-in during the early hours of this morning.
The shop and creche has been closed while police investigate the burglary.
