THE son of former Crawley MP Sir Nicholas Soames crashed his BMW on the M23 the morning after consuming a mix of wine and vodka cocktails.
Harry Soames was arrested after his vehicle spun on the northbound carriageway of the motorway and crashed into the central reservation.
The incident occurred just over seven hours after he had stopped drinking at his father's home in Handcross.
At Crawley Magistrates' Court last Wednesday, he pleaded guilty to drink-driving.
