A RESIDENT scared off a would-be burglar after being woken by sounds coming from a nearby garage block.At about 3.30am on Monday the resident in Salisbury Road, in Tilgate, was disturbed and looked out of their window to see someone with a torch by the garages.The resident shouted at the person, who then ran off to a nearby vehicle.When the garages were checked it appears three had been tampered with but none are thought to have been entered.
