FOUR cars were involved in a crash close to Gatwick Airport on Sunday afternoon.
Two people were trapped in their vehicles and had to be released by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment following the collision at about 12.30pm.
Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service then took over their care.
Sussex Police were also called to the scene and officers managed the crash scene and dealt with the incident.
