A NEIGHBOUR came to the rescue after an arsonist covered a couple's front door with petrol and set it alight - while they were inside.
The attack on Monday evening took place in Wayside, Ifield.
A neighbour alerted the couple after dousing the flames with water.
The door, which had petrol thrown at it and ignited, was well alight but following swift action from the neighbour there was no further damage.
