A MAN has been jailed after sexually assaulting and attempting to rape a woman in Pease Pottage. David Ball, 46, of Chelmsford, Essex, was found guilty of attempted rape and assault by penetration after a trial at Lewes Crown Court. He had already pleaded guilty to two counts of actual bodily harm. The offences took place on February 3 this year. Last Thursday he was convicted and sentenced to six years and three months imprisonment and will be required to sign on to the Sex Offenders...

THREE people have been arrested after police executed a drugs warrant in Bewbush on Thursday (November 7). The warrant was executed at Meridian Close and around ten cannabis plants were found. A 33-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, both from Crawley, were arrested on suspicion of production of a class B drug. A 23-year-old man, also from Crawley, was arrested for conspiracy to produce a class B drug. All of them have been bailed until January 22 while investigations continue.
