RUMOURS that somebody was murdered in Maidenbower yesterday (Thursday) are untrue police have confirmed.
Speculation appears to have swept parts of the neighbourhood that somebody had been killed yesterday lunchtime inside a home.
It led to a comment being left on the Maidenbower Residents Group's Facebook page, stating: "A murder in Maidenbower. Whatever next!"

A CRAWLEY woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 34-year-old woman was found dead in a house.
Tracy Bresnihan, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene in Hanover Close, Merstham, Surrey.
Surrey Police were called in the early hours of September 4 at the request of South East Coast Ambulance Service.
A post mortem carried out on September 5 failed to establish a cause of death and toxicology tests are being carried out.

Man charged with driving prostitute to work at Gatwick hotel
A MAN has appeared in court, charged with being involved in the alleged prostitution of a woman at Gatwick Airport.
Shahram Biglary is accused of driving the woman to the Sofitel Hotel, in the North Terminal, with the intention of making a personal gain on March 10 this year.

The centre, one of two announced by the government today (Monday, September 15), will offer victims access to expert advice, support and counselling.

Fire started deliberately in Tilgate Forest
A FIRE started deliberately in Tilgate Forest needed a specialist 4x4 vehicle to extinguish it.
A fire engine and four wheeled drive vehicle were sent out by Crawley Fire Station on Saturday afternoon following reports of a fire in undergrowth.
Crews used a hose reel to put out the small fire at about 1.25pm before it could spread. They left the scene at about 2pm.

A STUDENT who claimed there was a bomb on a flight from Gatwick Airport has been sent to prison.
Shortly before 4.30pm on Tuesday, September 9 Muhammet Demir, 20, called police and said he had seen a bomb on an Easyjet aeroplane that was due to fly from Gatwick to Turkey.

Pet owners warned to be vigilant after cats poisoned in...
PET OWNERS have been warned to be vigilant after cats were poisoned in Broadfield.
Police have been made aware of "several" cases of stray cats being poisoned in the Kensington Road area.
But there is nothing at this stage to suggest the poisoning has been deliberate and none of the cats has so far died.
Vets have reported five cases this week, and in each case the poison is causing kidney failure and neurological damage to the animals.

Police in riot gear spotted on Broadfield estate
POLICE officers in riot gear have been spotted on the Guinness Trust estate in Broadfield.
Several police cars, including an unmarked vehicle and a riot van were reportedly seen on the estate just over an hour ago. Sussex Police have been unable to confirm what is happening and whether any raid is being carried out but are looking into it.

Arsonist sets fire to garden furniture and trees in Southgate
GARDEN furniture and trees were set alight in a suspected arson attack in the back garden of a Southgate home last night.
A crew of firefighters from Crawley Fire Station were sent to the scene in Sunningdale Court at about 9.30pm.
They used a hose reel to put out the flames before using a thermal imaging camera to make sure the fires did not reignite.
They left the scene at about 9.55pm. The incident is being treated as a deliberate fire.
